About

Canan Ece TΓΌrkmen (she/her) is a PhD candidate in Learning Sciences program at Bogazici University. She received her MS in Science and Mathematics Education in 2018, and BS in Chemistry Education in 2015 from Middle East Technical University. She lives in Barcelona, Spain and occasionally visits Istanbul, Turkey due to ongoing PhD.

Research

After analyzing chemistry curricula and exploring teacher's perspectives on education for sustainability for her master's thesis, she developed interest in rural education. For her doctoral dissertation, she is collaborating with Rural Schools Transformation Network and studies teacher learning, teacher professional development, distributed learning communities.
